Soprano Christina Schwedler currently resides in New York City, where she completed her MM in Opera Performance at the Conservatory of Music of Brooklyn College. She started her vocal training at the University of Oklahoma, where she obtained her BM in Vocal Performance.
Christina is an energetic and passionate music instructor with 7+ years of experience teaching private and group music lessons with ages ranging from 3 to 65. Christina’s specialties include game based music learning, vocal technique, piano instruction, and song writing. In addition to Christina’s extensive teaching background she is also a professional musician who performs currently in the New York music scene.
Christina made her New York debut in a premiere of Ana Sokolović’s Svadba, as Zora. Other roles Christina has performed include understudy for Celia in Mozart’s Lucio Silla and Le rossignol, L’écureuil, and La bergère in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges. In 2018, Christina made her Carnegie debut with the choirs of Brooklyn College in the Joe Hisaishi Symphonic Concert: Music from the Studio Ghibli Films. Other talents Christina holds include choreography and aerial performance, combining the elements of aerial and singing simultaneously.
